· To promote politcal responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in

   government and to act on selected governmental issues.  The league shall be non-partisan; never

   supporting or opposing any political party or candidate.

 

Meetings, Programs, & Services

·  Current programs/issues change annually.

·  Voter Service:  candidate forums; voter registration of newly naturalized citizens; a phamplet

    published with the numbers and addresses of elected officials ( Erie and Niagara Counties ); 8-10

    page election guide—60,000 distributed county-wide.

·  Issues, Forums, & Panels: (some televised) On the economic, social & environmental cost of urban

    sprawl; chapter schools; international trade policy; & the election forum.

·  Testifying:  redistricting, waterfront plans, & monthly member meetings.

·  “Voter” newsletter every month except July.

·  Partial scholarships available
