·  A non-partisan, advocacy coalition of diverse groups and individuals that takes action to achieve

    economic, legislative, political, and social equality for women, and to improve the quality of life

    for citizens of New York State through research and education.

·  Promotion of family literacy, elimination of violence against women and girls, elimination of all

    forms of institutionalized discrimination, support and aid to women in the military and veterans

    and networking.

Mission Statement

·  To work closely with the New York State Division for women to ensure that women’s interests and

    perspectives are considered in the formulation of public policy and to act as an advocate for

    women in western New York on issues that affect the quality of their lives.

·  To review and monitor proposed legislation, state policies, procedures, practices and programs for

    their impact on women from Western New York .

·  To recommend legislation and new programs to the Division in order to improve the conditions

    and opportunities for women and to improve the delivery of services to women.

·  Works in such areas as women’s health, domestic violence, economic opportunity, child support

    and teen pregnancy.

·  It collaborates with other organizations to sponsor conferences and workshops that focus on the

    special needs of particular groups of women. 

·  It sponsors numerous educational activities including Women’s History Month events.
