Mission Statement

·  To identify and recognize African American women of Buffalo and Western New York for their

    contributions to the building of the African American community over this last century.

 

Meetings, Programs, & Services

·  Our website provides historical documentation and ongoing information on achievements of nearly

    500 African American women. The goal is to have information on 1901 women in the database.

·  Training sessions on web technology and the use of the website is provided to the African

    American community.  The site is interactive in order to assist in the search of profiles.  It receives

    about 40,000 visits a month from local, national, and international visitors from as far away as

    Australia and Zimbabwe .

·   The project combines computer technology with the humanities to increase the participation of

     African Americans on the world-wide web.

·   Yearly Confrence.
