Mission Statement

·  The UB Women's Club is a service organization for the University at Buffalo and its community.

·  Members organize and participate in educational and charitable activies which directly support the

    Grace Capen Academic Awards in April, and the Financial Aid Awards in September.

 

Meetings, Programs, & Services

·  The Executive Board meets monthly and general membership meetings occur three times a year.

·  Members can participate in various activites, major fundraisers and community service projects.

    Fundraisers benefit students at the University of Buffalo through the Grace Capen Academic

    Awards and Financial Aid Awards.

National Affiliation

·  Buffalo Federation of Women's Clubs, a nonprofit organization.

·  The Network provides advice and support to women colleagues in higher education through

    professional development and efforts to increase the number, visibility, and influence of women in

    leadership roles.

·  The Network sponsers an annual conference each spring,as well as br4eakfast seminars at area

    colleges throughout the school year.

·  A mentoring program is coordinated by Natalie Moudgil at Villa Maria College .

Mission Statement

·  The WNY Women’s Fund invests in innovative solutions to issues and needs of special significance to women and girls in Western New York .

 

Meetings, Programs, & Services

·  The WNY Women’s Fund is a collaborative effort between the United Way of Bufflao & Erie

    County and the Community Foudnation for Greater Buffalo .  The Fund raises money and makes

    grants to community programs that help women and girls have the power to realize their full

    potential, and it advocates for increased philantropy by and for women and girls.

·  Publishes a bi-annual newsletter.

Mission Statement

·  To direct services and support for the empowerment of women, children, and families towards

    moving ahead in economic, emotional, and social stability.

 

Meetings, Programs, & Services

·  Board of Directors meet once a month.

·  Board committees meet bi-weekly and at Retreat.

·  Annual April Forum and Luncheon at Buffalo Convention Center .

·  Services include:

                ·  Project Joy—a prison outreach and family celebration to provide goods and services to

                    over 4,000 women and children during the holiday season.

                ·  Women's Residential Resource Center —provides an alternative to incarceration,

                    including   structured housing for over 100 women annually.

                ·  Dignity Circle—ten duplex homes for single women and families, complete with

                    support services to enable women to move to full employment, economic, and social

                    stability.

                ·  Intergenerational Family Preservation Center —provides educational and vocational

                    enrichment and mental health, substance abuse, domestic abuse, individual and

                    family counseling.

                ·  Movin' On—provides transitional housing for homeless single women who are

                    committed to moving toward independence.

               ·   Dignity Village —opens in Nov. 2002 homes for single women and families with support

                   services to enable women to move to full employment, economic, and social stability.
